The gypsy's pussy

Image
The gypsy's pussy! In romanian we don't say "Lamium purpureum", we say "The gypsy's pussy"! So, no matter how much you wife loves wild flowers, never,  but never bring home "The gypsy's pussy"! (This photo is a little blurred just to make sure Facebook won't ban me!)

The pig's fart

Image
In romanian we don't say "Taraxacum officinale", we say "the pig's fart" and i love it! This plant is similar to "Arugula (Eruca sativa)", and you can eat them both in salads!  So remember next time you go to a restaurant and act like a vegan snob ordering some rocket salads, we will consider you are eating just pig's fart.

In moonlight

Image
"In night Rolfe waked, and whelming felt That refluence of disquiet dealt In sequel to redundant joy. Around he gazed in vague annoy Upon his mates. " Herman Melville - In moonlight

A lullaby

Image
"Dream, dream, thou flesh of me, Dream thou next my breast. Dream, dream, and coax the stars To light thee at thy rest. Sleep, sleep, thou breath of Him Who watcheth thee and me." Patience Worth - A lullaby

Don'T Go Far Off

Image
"Don't go far off, not even for a day, because -- because -- I don't know how to say it: a day is long and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep." Pablo Neruda - Don'T Go Far Off

La casa dei doganieri

Image

A Rhine-Land Drinking Song

Image
"If our own life is the life of a flower (And that's what some sages are thinking), We should moisten the bud with a health-giving flood And 'twill bloom all the sweeter- Yes, life's the completer For drinking, and drinking, and drinking. If it be that our life is a journey (As many wise folk are opining), We should sprinkle the way with the rain while we may; Though dusty and dreary, 'Tis made cool and cheery With wining, and wining, and wining. If this life that we live be a dreaming (As pessimist people are thinking), To induce pleasant dreams there is nothing, meseems, Like this sweet prescription, That baffles description- This drinking, and drinking, and drinking." Eugene Field - A Rhine-Land Drinking Song

Aloe v4

Image
"But if… away off… on a fork of grassed earth socketing an inlet reach of blue water… if canaries (do they sing out of cages?) flung such luminous notes, they would sink in the spirit… lie germinal…" Lola Ridge - Cactus seed

Aloe v5

Image
"I asked how old the world was-yea, And why yon ruddy mountain grew Out of hell's fire. By night nor day It answered not, though all it knew, But lifted, as it stopped my way, Its wrinkled fingers toward the blue." Harriet Monroe - The Giant Cactus Of Arizona

No More a Roving

Image
"So, we'll go no more a roving So late into the night, Though the heart be still as loving, And the moon be still as bright." Lord Byron - So We'll Go No More a Roving

A Barefoot Boy

Image
"A barefoot boy! I mark him at his play -- For May is here once more, and so is he, -- His dusty trousers, rolled half to the knee, And his bare ankles grimy, too, as they: Cross-hatchings of the nettle, in array Of feverish stripes, hint vividly to me Of woody pathways winding endlessly" James Whitcomb Riley - A Barefoot Boy

A poison tree

Image
"And into my garden stole,  When the night had veild the pole;  In the morning glad I see;  My foe outstretched beneath the tree." William Blake - A Poison Tree

Uscaciune

Image
"Te-asigur, nulitatea-i un dar pe-această lume. La ce bun glorie, profunde cunoştinţe, Talent şi dor imens de libertate Când nu prea ştim ce-i de făcut cu ele?" Mihail Lermontov - Monolog

Bicycle

Image
“When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking”  – Arthur Conan Doyle

the long field

Image
“Să te consideri spectator indulgent şi amuzat al lumii acesteia plină de infamie şi de prostie e să faci parte din ea, şi să beneficiezi de infamiile ei, având aerul că-i eşti deasupra.” - Camil Petrescu, Ultima noapte de dragoste, întâia noapte de război

Waiting on a friend

Image
"A smile relieves a heart that grieves Remember what I said I'm not waiting on a lady I'm just waiting on a friend" Waiting on a Friend - The Rolling Stones

The frog

Image
"Be kind and tender to the Frog,    And do not call him names, As ‘Slimy skin,’ or ‘Polly-wog,’    Or likewise ‘Ugly James,’ Or ‘Gape-a-grin,’ or ‘Toad-gone-wrong,’       Or ‘Billy Bandy-knees’: The Frog is justly sensitive    To epithets like these. No animal will more repay    A treatment kind and fair; At least so lonely people say Who keep a frog (and, by the way,    They are extremely rare)." The Frog - Hilaire Belloc

Corydon

Image
"Conceived of the incest of sun rays and twilight My gaze, with its splendour, caresses the dark, The whole town is abuzz about me and my mark, They fear me in secret, though, still, I'm their highlight. I'm the prince of penumbrae, I am lord of the half-light." Corydon - Radu Stanca

Melancholy

Image
"The church, a ruin lorn, Is bowed and sad and empty, a place of shadows mourn; And through it's gaping windows a moaning breeze is heard, As though grey witches whispered and one could hear their word. On pillars and on altar, and painted walls remain Naught but the gloomy contours on which time spreads its stain. For priest a cricket chirps a sermon fine, obscure; For sexton digs a wood worm eternal sepulchre." Emil Botta - Melancholy

Vegetable swallow

Image
"in the machine's sap grass grows around with sharp eyes here the share of our caresses dead and departed with the waves" Triztan Tzara - Vegetable Swallow

Withered rose
